Van der Vlist has recently transported a 1943 steam locomotive from Loenen to Simpelveld, in The Netherlands. Due to the age and condition of the locomotive it was not possible for it to be transported by rail: therefore Van der Vlist offered a solution by road.
Two trucks, both with width-adjustable vessel bridge trailers, were used to transport the steam locomotive and the tender wagon. A route survey was completed in advance to ensure that the night time movement was carried out with no problems.
The steam locomotive comes from the collection of the Veluwsche Steam Train Company. The engine is currently being refurbished, once the works are completed, the locomotive will be put to work on the Miljoenenlijn.
