The TII Group, the world´s leading manufacturer of heavy-duty vehicles, is presenting at the METEC metallurgical trade fair in Dusseldorf (Hall 04 / C37). As a full-range supplier for the metallurgy sector, the TII Group will be offering a wide range of innovative solutions in Dusseldorf.
“Whoever is interested in seeing what modern service concepts look like in steelworks today, should really take a look at our vehicles”, says Helmut Maier, Area Manager Sales at TII Sales, the sales arm of SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS, KAMAG and TII Energy which together form the TII Group. “The interchangeable drive unit for articulated vehicles that we are exhibiting at this year’s METEC is the best example of this. By simply changing the complete engine unit during maintenance, we save our customers a lot of time and money”, added Maier. The TII Group offers this quick-change option for a broad range of articulated vehicles such as scrap basket transporters, slag pot carriers or slab transporters and thus supports its customers during the most critical phase, namely the cost-intensive processes in the metal production and further processing. Time is the decisive factor here whereby short downtime periods therefore result in massive savings.
The success of the slag pot carriers of the TII Group – with payloads of up to 130 tonnes unrivaled worldwide along with its growing market share – is also based on those same time savings. High payloads, and safe handling pay off in practice for the customers. The TII Group has developed transportation systems for accommodating the demanding logistics requirements found in metallurgical operations that can cope well with extreme heat, dirt and heavy loads. As a full-range supplier, the Group provides vehicles for use in the production process in steelworks with which all transportation assignments along the value chain can be easily mastered. The spectrum ranges from ladle transporters for molten steel and slag pot transporters for payloads up to 150 t in U-frame and platform constructions, slab transporters, industry transporters, scrap basket transporters, set-down skip loaders, compact coil transporters complete with hoods for protection against wind and weather through to heavy-load trailers with electronic steering and automatic guide assistance for driving under pallets.

This results in enormous time savings compared to conventional designs and therefore dramatically reduces the downtime.
