In recent years, demand for Goldhofer’s semitrailers and heavy-duty modular transporters has steadily increased in the UK. In response to its growing market shares in the field of heavy haulage and oversized cargo transportation, the manufacturer from Memmingen has recruited two new service partners in England, and Goldhofer’s UK customers can now make use of a full servicing, maintenance and repair service at two locations in England.
Ken Tyrala is one of the two new faces representing Goldhofer’s new “made in Great Britain” service policy. With his expert team of engineers, he offers a full portfolio of services for Goldhofer products throughout the country. Ken, who was previously Service Manager at Scania, knows all about the specific requirements and workflows in the heavy haulage industry. In his current role as Director of the prominent Truck Technics company of Leyburn in North Yorkshire, he heads a team of highly qualified mechanics and engineers. The company has its own engineering facility and paint shop and is in a position to handle welding and all servicing and maintenance work for Goldhofer vehicles. To complete its offering, Truck Technics has trained field service teams with the capability to handle repairs in the field anywhere in Britain. All service personnel at Truck Technics will receive intensive training for their new duties from an experienced Goldhofer service engineer.
The same level of training and support will also be provided for the team at Specialist Trailer Services UK Ltd., the second addition to the Goldhofer service network in the UK. The company is run by General Manager Mick Rhodes (formerly After-sales Manager at Nooteboom) and located in Tuxford, Newark. Here, too, highly qualified service engineers are capable of handling all repair and maintenance work and also offer a field service for a fast response where repairs to Goldhofer trailers are required. Specialist Trailer Services UK Ltd. are currently working on plans for a paint shop in Tuxford, which will permit them to expand their service offering to cope with the growing numbers of Goldhofer customers in the region.
In addition to these new repair and maintenance services, Goldhofer is in the process of upgrading its UK presence in other ways, too. At the PLANTWORX trade show, which will be held in Lutterworth, Leicestershire on June 6-8, for example, visitors can look forward to the presentation of a new Goldhofer semitrailer design as the optimum solution to the needs of the UK transport industry. The advantages of the new vehicle include maximum payloads on the drop deck, high axle loads for heavy-duty applications and maximum fifth-wheel loads of up to 52 t. The newcomer is fitted with big, low-wear tires, which make it ideal for grueling applications, e.g. on construction sites with rugged terrain.
