BPW Bergische Achsen KG, the international mobility and system partner to the international transport industry, has taken full control of idem telematics GmbH. An agreement to this effect was signed in the last few days. The Wiehl-based company had already held a majority shareholding in the telematics specialist since March 2012. The acquisition of the remaining shares is based on the collaboration with idem GmbH established at that time, according to which the company was to be sold to BPW in two stages.
Company founder and former partner Pete Jendras will relinquish his position in the executive board of idem telematics GmbH at the end of 2015. With effect from 1 January 2016, Thomas Piller will assume sole management of the Munich and Ulm sites. Pete Jendras will continue to contribute his knowledge and experience in the area of commercial vehicle telematics to the BPW Group in an advisory capacity. BPW will use telematics to further expand the international mobility partnership for vehicle operators and the system partnership for vehicle manufacturers.
“The use of telematics in trucks and trailers is an important tool for hauliers with which to increase the efficiency and safety of their vehicles. With idem telematics GmbH, we have had the No. 1 for telematics solutions and an experienced partner at our side since 2012 in order to make the benefits of telematics available to hauliers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Pete Jendras warmly for the successful collaboration and are delighted that he will continue to provide his technical expertise to the BPW Group in an advisory capacity”, says Michael Pfeiffer, personally liable managing partner of BPW Bergische Achsen KG.
