Edinburgh based, Bernard Hunter Mobile Cranes Ltd has appointed Mr Mark Rafferty as Managing Director with effect from March 31st. 2017. Formerly employed as Contracts Director, Mark Rafferty has worked with the Gilmerton company since 2003 and succeeds his father Jim who has now moved into the role of Chairman.
The management restructure delivers a business as usual approach for the firm with Mark Rafferty steering day to day operations, whilst Jim Rafferty will take more of a back seat but continue his involvement with major decision making for Bernard Hunter Mobile Cranes Ltd, in addition to his involvement with metal recycling and property development for Bernard Hunter Ltd.
The former connection with metals stretches back to the company’s founding in 1946 at Seafield, Edinburgh. Bernard Hunter Mobile Cranes Ltd currently operates one of the most modern crane fleets in the UK and caters for a wide range of lifting jobs up to a maximum of 500 tonnes.
